After Saturday’s visit at the hospital, the wife and I were on the way home. I was hungry, and so was she. As we were driving down Market Street I kept asking her (hinting actually) that if we were in Philly we should go get something to eat. I was thinking either The Melting Pot or Maggianos but we felt we weren’t dressed nice enough for those restaurants. Then the wife said that she wanted steak. Well that’s all you need to say to me to make me change my mind. I love me some t-bone steaks or prime-rib. So I asked, "OK, then where?" She said, or rather sniffed, the answer. That meant only 1 place. A place we used to drool over when we would come home from work every day while living in Westmont… The Pub. As we pulled up, we could smell the smoke of the hickory wood they use. And here, friends is where it becomes an adventure…

Well after Friday’s debacle with the roof, I decided that Saturday was going to be a busy day. The wife and I went to go visit my grandmother first and return her computer. I had almost everything. I should have thought about the printer, but hey, hindsight is 20/20. I was able to get the computer installed without a problem. I would have rather had the whole PC with me (we got a P4 PC, LCD 17" monitor, and keyboard/mouse for $150), but it will make it there when my cousin gets there for a visit. She was really happy and excited to have it. I turned it on… and it worked. I just configured AOL for her (yes, she uses dial-up) and she was off and running. Haven’t seen her online yet, but I know she was happy to have it.
After we left visiting my grandmother, the wife and I trekked to philly to the hospital to see my grandfather.

Well, where do we begin? On Thursday I got a call from my sister letting me know that my Dad needs to talk to me about my grandparents. My grandfather is in the hospital using a heart that’s working only 10%, and my grandmother fractured her shoulder from a nasty spill on Wednesday. So needless to say, my mind was preoccupied with the well-being of my grandparents.
On Friday, I came home from a long day’s work looking forward to see my grandmother, and return her computer I fixed. I opened the door, and what did I see in the mud room? A soaking carpet and water falling from the ceiling. Yup, that’s right. I had a leak in the roof. But where? So I grabbed the flashlight and ran up into the attic, back to the area where it was leaking. Good, no sign of water on the rafters here (I have 2 roofs). So back down I went (meanwhile, Indy is freaking out because I’m in the attic), to go grab the ladder, buckets, and a putty knife.

Well, I did it. Finally bit into this blog-o-sphere craze. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I haven’t tried this before. I had a LiveJournal account, and before that, a hosted webpage on some free hosting site. But I could never get around to posting or keeping it updated. At least now, I can try. Besides, I need to get the website up and running.
I found a nice app to post with, and it’s done on the local machine and not via the web. It’s called Microsoft Live Writer (go here). It’s one of the better publishing tools that’s available for WordPress. And since everyone wants to be a blogger, MS has dedicated a team to this application. The majority of the other apps were user driven, and maintained.
So now it’s time to configure the blog and start writing about life, the universe, and almost everything.
